FWIJ Press Release

BINGSJÖ 360° – Memories, myths & music

Sweden’s largest annual folk music festival, Bingsjöstämman, has had to cancel their physical event for the first time in 51 years due to the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic! Therefore we will be hosting an online VR-festival with never before seen footage from our VR/360 Music documentary “First Wednesday In July” produced by Honeypot Film Productions and Faraway Productions!

Event information can be found here.

However, we cannot allow that magical time of year when the festival officially starts on the afternoon of the first Wednesday in July to just pass unnoticed. This year, you or we may not be in Bingsjö, but we will try to take Bingsjö home to you instead.

At 3 pm (CEST) on July 1 we invite you to an hour’s webcast with memories, myths and music. Afterwards we will release a selection of clips from 2018, when the Bingsjöstämman was filmed by our production crew with a VR/360° camera. You can experience these 360° clips on either your computer, phone or in your VR headset. Transporting you to that very place in Bingsjö.

None of the preparation, post production of the material and footage would have been possible if it wasn’t for Benny Andersson’s (ABBA) music company Mono Music AB, Film i Dalarna, Högskolan Dalarna, Folkmusikens Hus, our director/producer Axel Grigor and co-producer Karolina Berkell-Kirk of Honeypot Film Productions.

We are absolutely thrilled and can’t wait to share the clips and links with you. See you all on Wednesday 1st July at 15:00 CEST!!!
